ROBERT’S CHOREOGRAPHIC STYLE IN 3 WORDS: SOULFUL, ECLECTIC, AND COMPELLING.

Robert Jamie Mason is a multidisciplinary artist born in the Bronx, New York City, and raised in Columbia, South Carolina. Robert started dancing at the age of 9 years old at the Columbia City Jazz Dance School and Company with jazz, tap, and hip hop. After some years of training there, he started his classical ballet and modern training at age 14 at The University of South Carolina’s after-school ballet conservatory. Around the same time, he was accepted into The South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities summer program in Greenville, South Carolina. He attended the SCGSAH summer program for two years before they welcomed him into their high school residential program. He started very vigorous training in classical, Vaganova, contemporary, Cecchetti, neoclassical, and Bournville styles of ballet. Along with training in Graham, Horton, Cunningham, pantomiming, and character dancing techniques. After finishing and receiving his high school diploma, he became a student at The Juilliard School, and a new path was born. He is now a recent graduate of The Juilliard School for dance. He received his Bachelor’s of Fine Arts Degree. As a result of obtaining this degree and knowledge, he has been able to be featured in modeling magazines, runways, fashion shoots, teaching, choreographing, and mentoring students’ development. He is eager to continue his knowledge of dance, teaching, vogue, modeling, and choreography in all the blessings that come his way.

He has also successfully been a part of 2 major films called “Into The Colors” and“Forged In Chaos” that has been in the final selection of The Festival of Cinema NYC 2022, Tribeca Film Festival, The Oceanic Global Short Film Festival 2022 in London, Vimeo Staff Picks 2022 and Indie Shorts Awards 2022.
