Phoenix
Phoenix is a revolutionary multidisciplinary storyteller from the Bronx. She graduated from Marist College with a Bachelors in English Writing. She is a U.S Fulbright Alumni, Gates Millennium Scholar, John Lewis Fellowship Alumni, and NBCUniversal Page Program Alumni. In 2018, she taught English in South Africa and later participated in the Frost Place Conference on Poetry. As of 2021, she completed the DEAR Fellowship program for artists. In 2022 she became a recipient of the 2022 Bronx Council on the Arts BRIO Award, the City Corps Artist Grant, and made it to the second round of Mike Gauyo’s Black Boy Black Girl Writers Mentorship Program. She was featured in Arts Magazine’s 2022 40 Under 40 in the Arts List. Phoenix is a self-published author of “The Ghetto Youth Handbook'' and her work can be found in various spaces including: the Bronx Native Writer’s Anthology Vol 1 and 2, Into the Void, LUNA Magazine, We Are Antifa, Sad Girls Club Literary Blog, the Bronx Memoir Project Anthology Vol V, and Arizona University Press’ When Language Broke Open: Anthology of Queer and Trans Black Writers of Latin American Descent.
