Aliens!!! GIF - @mirandaclarefs

My sketch- The swirl in the upper right within a grid is a substandard rendering of one of Jason Peters’ sculptures (see below).

My email suggestions/notes:

August 5th, 2023: I actually wanted to ask what you charge for storyboarding and animation? I have kind of a wild idea lol and yet, again, ideas come to me in formats I am not at all versed in. So instead of trying to learn from scratch, I prefer to just partner up with those who know what it is I am trying to do- and commission/collab because you are way farther along than I would be even if I started right now.

I feel like the vibrancy of your work, combined with the topic (aliens who are existentially coping with being 'confirmed' as existing) could be really fun. I would audio narrate it- and then there could be times when the image stays static (so we cut down on the amount of animation that would have to be done).

Here's my Outline for it (it will update continuously as I make changes to the note):Aliens! - Arcanum - Obsidian Publish

lmk if you might be interested or know how I could find anyone who might be!

August 8th, 2023: Thank you for being open to working on a project through diff stages/budget. This idea could entirely change forms over time, or might just end up being one that petters out- but I need to see it first to know if it has legs.

I appreciate your very clear breakdown of cost- it's so refreshing to see it all laid out!

I do love the idea of the project having several iterations (ie if the idea takes off)- and would absolutely love to start with "So something like this is super simple! Just a quick looping gif with 2 frames and minimal cleanup and Bg detail! I'll take just 20$ for something like this! (no comp no cleanup!)"

So I love the style of the two B&W GIFs you sent above- and would like to follow that vein in terms of style for this version.

I only really have a clear vision of one frame- see my awkward sketch attached lol. The sculpture in the image I want to look like my friend's work (see attached video)

That's an alien on the left side of the frame lol- he looks bigger just because of the perspective- it is looking out into the distance where the sculpture is, while a number of smaller aliens (because they are farther away) gather in front of it. Maybe in the GIF loop the little aliens slightly move so it looks like they are dancing? But the alien on the left stays stationary-resigned vibe like the robot smoking a cig pic in the Dropbox link- maybe he stays stationary but the smoke from his cig wafts/floats in the GIF? I've also included a screengrab video of alien inspo, toys that resemble what I want the aliens to look like (more cute that scary). I like the idea of distracting people with cute aliens trying to save Earth - so if they like how the aliens look they'll stick around long enough to hear the story.
